Stroller Free at Mall of America

Since Monday was an observed holiday, we took a family trip to the Mall of America.  The used to be a semi-regular outing for us, but it's been 19 months since we were all here and 10 months since we did a quick visit with Parker.  We came right at opening and it wasn't too busy.  Since this was our first time without a stroller, we had a plan ahead of time of the stops we were going to make.  We browsed a toy store and each of them got to choose a small item.  Esme got a squirting toilet (knee deep in potty talk over here) and Parker got a deluxe fidget spinner.
We stopped at the Crocs store next and I got my first pair!  I have been scoffing at them for years, but it was time.  The main attraction of the day was the new M&M's store.  We all love M&M's and I was also excited to check out the store itself.  I sold much of the aluminum cladding that makes up the exterior.  It's always exciting to see our raw materials in their final applications.
There were a ton of direct ties to Minnesota and something fun to see at every turn.
We stopped and made our own custom groove that you can hear in the video below.
A trip here isn't complete without making our very own custom mix of the sweet treats.  Each of them got to pick out two colors to add.
We took the elevator back down to purchase our haul.  Jimmy also grabbed a new mug.  He previously bought a travel mug at the now closed Times Square store on our first anniversary trip in 2010, but water got inside of it and ruined the paper insert.  He went with a regular mug this time.  Parker was a little hesitant with the glass elevator and also acted a bit like Will Ferrell in Elf on the escalator.  Esme loved them both.  We could have just gone up and down the whole time and she would have left a happy gal.
It was a great success and I look forward to more trips soon!
