April 2026

We started the month watching the Artemis 2 launch on April 1st. Jimmy was the most excited about this. It was the first NASA spacecraft in either of the kids' lifetimes.  I must have taken the shuttle program for granted as a kid, there were so many launches.

Friday, April 3rd turned in to an eventful day as well.  The kids were on spring break and my dad picked up Parker a bit before 7am to hang out at their house while I worked.  Less than 10 minutes later I got a call saying had a seizure and passed out in the car.  He was headed back to our house and I called 911.  This was the first time something like this happened and I was terrified.  The first group of police arrived a few minutes after my dad got back.  Parker was still passed out, but breathing. That was the most scared I have ever been. Not knowing Parker's status and waiting for them to arrive.  He started to wake up for the police officer and the EMTs were not far behind. He was able to get himself on to the stretcher with a little assistance and I rode with him to the hospital.  Esme had planned to stay home with me, but went home with my dad.
I had told Jimmy what was happening and he met us in the ER, just a short walk from where he works.  They did a blood draw without any fight and he was a rockstar for his scan.  They did not find an obvious case of the seizure which is common.  We were discharged pretty quick and have a medicine to give him if it happens again.  We know a lot more now and hopefully won't need to call 911 if it does occur.
The next day we hosted Esme's 10th birthday party.  I was glad we could continue celebrating her.
Easter was pretty low-key.  Baskets and church in the morning.
Fried chicken dinner and an egg hunt at Grandpa and Nanas.
We went out to Dairy Queen on Esme's actual birthday and she was living her best life!
The weather has been really up and down this spring. Jimmy and I had a date night at Target field and it was chilly.  We got free tickets in some decent seats which helped keep up warm.  The wind was really whipping in the upper deck.
The following Friday we went out for Applebee's with my parents on a whim.  1/2 priced apps made for a pretty cheap night out.
Jimmy went in for another round at the tattoo shop.  Suki did some touchups and added a UFO and footprint on the moon.
It's also 4-wheel season in the country!  Both kids were eager to get riding!
