Alaska: Part 3

Wednesday was our final full day.  There was a chance of rain, but we were hopeful it wouldn't put a damper on things.  Our ATV excursion was scheduled to depart at 10 and we had an hour drive, s.o we chose a breakfast spot further south.  This was a true little hole-in-the-wall diner, Judy's Cafe.
This was my favorite breakfast.  The corned beef hash omelette was amazing!
In Lesa style, we arrived early.  That didn't end up being needed since the other party was a little late and we didn't end up heading out until 10:45.  They did add the lost time on the back end, so we got our full tour.
We started with a slower drive out to check some possible wildlife sightings.  We didn't see much except a little spec of a bear through our guide's scope.  It's literally the tiny black dot in the middle.
We got a little more adventurous with our drive before stopping to hike to a waterfall. Another stunning view.
The two kids in the back and the woman on the right were the other group.  They were from Texas.  The youngest boy had a broken ankle.  He was still able to ride, but wasn't able to hike to the falls.
After a brief stop back at the hotel, we took a stroll around town for some souvenir shopping.
We stopped in to F Street Station for a late lunch/early dinner.  Rum and diet coke to wash down the crab salad sandwich.
We rested and relaxed back at the hotel for a few hours before venturing out for some supper.  We were on our way to another restaurant when we saw this one.  We knew we'd have to stop back for picture since Jimmy was born in 1980.  He looked up their menu as we continued on and we decided just to head back there to grab a bite.  Burger Jim was a crazy mix of Chinese and American.  Jimmy got the Jim Burger which had ham, bacon, cheese, onions, mushrooms, and jalapeños.  I wen with a basic bacon cheeseburger.

Our final morning in Anchorage found us at Snow City Cafe.  Another popular spot that we tried previously.  We arrived early this time and got a table right at opening.
Steaming coffee and a pancake as big as the plate was the perfect cap to our trip
We strolled down to the river to walk off breakfast and watched some salmon fishing.  Didn't see any fish, but there must be some there.
Not pictured was our 4th and final stop at Krispie Kreme (Jimmy went on his own the 3rd time.). Back on the plane for the trip home.  We are so grateful for the chance to get away together, but excited to get back to the kiddos.
Until next time...
