We had a crazy fun weekend!
A high school friend that lives out east was back in town. So, 5 of the gals got together for a campfire at my house on Friday. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and had fun chatting and catching up. We try to get together as much as possible, but it get harder with people living far away, getting married and having kids. Even after months (and sometimes years) it feels just as comfortable as it was in high school. I feel blessed to still have these ladies in my life!

I had a family baby shower on Saturday evening so I spent the morning frantically sewing to finish her gifts! I made a bath apron and basic burp cloth (called a Burp-Me in the Herrmann family!) I plan on doing tutorials at some point!
Mom-to-be Lacey is having a boy (hopefully on my birthday!) She has a sports themed nursery and I went a little overboard! I made a baseball fleece tie blanket along with my other projects.
Her mother-in-law got her this super cute kids rocker! Parker may need to get one!We played the clothes pin game, which I dominated since my friend Katie wasn't there!
Dinner was delicious as well (the Herrmann clan always has great food!) Can't wait for baby boy to arrive!
Sunday afternoon we went to the Minnesota Zoo with my parents. We don't get down there much because it is farther (and more expensive) than Como Zoo. They have so many animals and it is much more spread out! The down side is that you don't always get to see the animals because there are more places for them to hide.
Parker LOVED the prairie dogs. He kept giggling at them. The bears were one of the only other animals that he stopped to look at as well!
As we were leaving Parker started to chase his shadow! I tried to get video, but he didn't do it again. These pictures don't do it justice, but it was super cute!

This is what summer is all about!
What an awesome weekend! It looks like you had so much fun :)
ReplyDeleteLast time I took Jillian to the zoo, the monkeys were...um... a little busy *cough* so we're going to skip that next time ;)
Oh, and now I want some onion rings! Hahaha
Haha! That is fabulous! My parents have a home video of us at Busch Gardens in Florida when I was 10. The clydesdales got a little excited...
DeleteOh - the next time you are in MN, you must check out Galaxy Drive-In! So fun! I kinda want some more onion rings now too!
