Wednesday was a mid-week off day for the kids in honor of Yom Kippur. I had a full day of fun planned for myself and the kids. In the morning, we met friends at Eastman Nature Center in Maple Grove. It was a gorgeous fall day. The kids played out front while waiting for our friends.
They have an indoor center with live and model animals that you can learn about. I loved this fun fact on the way in. Who knew there was a name for that?!?
My friend, Sherry, came with her daughter, Ryelle, and another friend from church, Khali. This was the first time Esme has really spent time with them and they were immediate best friends.
The girls had fun in the puppet show station and put on a play for us.
We headed outside to visit the resident owl before taking a short hike.
We found a book along the trail that Esme read to us.
Our final stop was the dock on the pond. This was wild little floating bridge that moved a lot. Parker was a little nervous about it.
It was about time for lunch when were done, so we met at McDonalds for a bite.
