July 4th and Other Summer Fun

We had a great Fourth of July and week leading up to it!  Dinner with our friends Ben and Stacy was on Wednesday night.  It's always fun to hang out with another couple and we got to check out their place.
Thursday night signaled the start of a 3 day weekend for me (Jimmy got 4 days off!)  We grabbed some Five Guys and headed to French Regional Park to play on the ropes.  Parker didn't want anything to do with them this time...
Friday was pretty relaxed, we just hung out at home most of the day.  Parker had a blast with his water table!
We went to breakfast with Jimmy's parents on Saturday.  His dad is back from Texas without a new heart.  We are bummed, but it just didn't work out, so we are back to waiting at home.  This was the best picture I could get of all of us.  I am just happy Parker was looking!
We headed out to the country after some morning chores.  My parents neighbors had a big get-together and we spent the rest of the day hanging out with them.  Of course there was delicious food!  I had a bacon-wrapped, mushroom-stuffed cheeseburger for lunch!
The kiddos all got to play in the pool and the sprinkler.  There were 6 of them under 4 which made for lots of fun and lots of chaos!
The fun and sun even made Parker take a breather or two during the afternoon.
We also did some shooting on the hill.  Jimmy and I both shot the Lavander Lady (45).  I have never shot a hand gun before and that thing scared the crap outta me!  Jimmy also had some beginners luck at clay shooting.
Dinner was a spread of ribs and all sorts of sides!
It was a great day of fun with family and friends.  We were able to see a dozen fireworks shows on the horizon from the top of a hill and watched more on our drive home.  We all slept great that night.
Sunday brought another potluck meal with our church small group.  We headed to a park for food and fellowship.  I am glad we brought Parker's push toy, it really kept him occupied while we chatted.
 And dessert of course!
It was hard to get out of bed on Monday morning, but we are mostly back to normal now.  Hope you had a great time celebrating America too!
