More fall fun!

Mostly a picture post tonight.  We had a ton of fun in the last week enjoying some fall activities.  Parker loved playing the leaves, but was a little weary of the pumpkin!

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

I have been wanted to get to a pumpkin patch for weeks.  Finally got out tonight.  I was hoping to get some pictures of Parker playing with the pumpkins, but he wasn't really into it.  I am keeping it short tonight so lets get to the pictures!

Had to tickle him to get a smile!

This was a candid shot...I love it!
He really perked up when we put him in the corn pit.  I was worried that he might try to eat it, but that was not his interest.  He LOVED it.  He probably could have played in there for hours.

Bayfield Apple Fest 2012

Last weekend was the Apple Fest in Bayfield, Wisconsin.  It has become a quasi-tradition over the last few years and we were so excited to share the experience with Parker.  This year we shared a cabin with Jimmy's sister's family.

We headed out on Thursday and made a lunch pit stop in Hayward, WI.  Hayward is a cute town with a great stretch of "main street" stores.  One of our favorites is Tremblay's Sweet Shop.  They have every kind of candy you can think of.  They make fudge, brittles, truffles, barks and more.  They also have a huge spread of saltwater taffy, YUM!  We arrived at our cabin later that night and settled in.

We headed out to the festival early Friday morning.  Last year we had AMAZING weather.  It was close to 80 degrees and we were all in shorts and t-shirts.  This year was a far cry from that.  It was 40 degrees with 15-20 MPH winds.  It was the first time we were really going to have to bundle Parker up.  Even with the cold and wind we had a great time.  The festival itself is kind of like your standard fair/carnival.  There are lots of tasty food booths (with both apple and non-apple dishes.)  They is also a bunch of craft booths with everything from mittens to giant bells made out of propane tanks!  My favorite thing this year was the HOT apple cider!

Our nephew Paul was dancing to the music!
Just woke up (I think he's smiling)
On Friday night we had dinner at Garmisch, a kitschy little Bavarian restaurant and Inn.  They are known for the all-you-can-eat fish dinner.  You can have baked cod or fried haddock.  I look forward to this every year!

Even with the cold weather we got to see some beautiful fall colors.  The trees around home just don't seem to be as pretty as the rural WI ones are.
We even got a lovely dusting of snow on Saturday morning.  Snow, on October 6th?  Not sure I am ready for that yet!
