I started a 14 week couch to 10K program today. My hope is to run a 10K in October. I am going to give it a month of training to see if I have what it takes to be a runner. If I am feeling good, I will register for the race. Paying the fee will be a big motivator to get there! It is a 3x a week program. Week 1 is: 5 minute brisk walk, intervals of 60 sec. running and 90 sec. walking for 20 minutes, 5 min cool down. Today felt pretty good! I am also doing a squat challenge for the month of June (see below.) I may not feel this great after doing 250 squats and running!
Weight Wars at my work has also begun! There are 167 teams and over 700 participants! It will be fun to have others to motivate me and to keep me accountable for the next 8 weeks.
Here's to hoping I get some good results on the scale as well!
