Bayfield 2018: Part 1

And just like that another Bayfield Apple Festival weekend is upon us.  Pretty standard procedure, lunch at Coop's in Hayward, then a walk through town.  Their pizza is pretty unique, but both the kids enjoy it.  We were joined by Jimmy's parents, sister, and niece this year.
Tremblay's candy shop is always the first stop.  We loaded up on salt water taffy, suckers, and a few chocolates.
We browsed a few other stores, then got a pumpkin cookie for the road.  Esme wasn't interested so Parker knocked it down himself.  I think she was just tired and ready for a nap.  We stayed at the same hotel as last year, Americinn Ashland.  Both kids noticed the pool when we walked in and immediately wanted to get in their suits and go for a dip.  Esme is saying "come on."
They had the waterslides running, which was so much fun since they weren't at all last year.  I tried getting Parker to try, but he wouldn't.  I took Esme down the small one first and she was hooked!
Jimmy's parents had a jacuzzi room, so the kids got a quick bath after swimming.  It was just easier for him to hop in since there was room.
We got Mexican from El Dorado for dinner.  It was a little different than what we are used to, but so good!
The breakfast room was under construction last year, but we got to use it this trip.  They had a full continental breakfast which was great for the kids.  They had waffles, yogurt, and milk before heading to Bayfield on Friday.
One of our favorite musicians is Owl City.  He had a song called "Madeline Island" on his latest album.  It's right off the coast of Bayfield and was the perfect soundtrack rolling in to town.
A little chilly when we arrived, but we've had it colder.
To be continued...
