We set up the pool for the first time this weekend. The kids were thrilled to see it when they got home from school on Thursday and were in it as much as they could be until Sunday night.
The tiny toy watering can was the favorite, so I had to think of a solution to mitigate the fighting.
I ended up stopping at Dollar Tree for some more pool toys and grabbed some plastic storage containers. Easily became "showers" by drilling some holes in the bottom.
Ice cream abounds in the warm weather too. Esme had her first ice cream cone at home and is hooked.
These scenes were on repeat the rest of the weekend.
It took Esme a while to get over the wasps flying about. She's developed a fear of flying bugs. I set up a DIY trap that has yet to catch anything, but she picked up on splashing them with water. By afternoon, she was asking where at the bugs went.
Saturday was the warmest day, so we made our first stop of the season at Dairy Queen. They were a sticky mess by the time we left, but it was worth it.
Esme closed out the weekend by drawing all of our adventures. The blue square is the pool and she says there are some ice cream cones in there.
Looking forward to a fun summer on the deck!
