The kids went swimming for a second time before dinner.
Jimmy and I shared a 3 meat combo from Salt + Smoke. Brisket, chicken, ribs, mac n cheese, beans, and a signature popover! Their 'my sweet bestie' sauce was so tasty!
We had an arch view from our room and I caught these three views.
After the fanciest continental breakfast I've ever had, we had tickets for the first tram of the day on Sunday morning. The doors opened at 9 and there was already a line when we arrived.
We got through security pretty quickly and were queued up. Parker was already skeptical of what was about to go down, but we kept him pretty calm.
He was very helpful holding our cards for tram #4. It took some encouragement to get him in the tram and he was asking to be done the whole time.
Esme looks a little distressed in this one, but her and I were cool as a cucumber.
Parker was asking to go back down the entire 10 minutes we were up there, but I was proud that he was able to stay calm.
This was my second time to the top and I didn't recall that you can see the legs from inside.
I set a timer for the trip back down so he knew how long it would take to be done.
We briefly walked the museum, but were eager to hit the road for home.
Had to stop for a slice of Gooey Butter Cake, a St. Louis staple. About halfway back home we stopped for a visit with our friends Tyler, Kayla, and baby June. It was great to catch up, see their home remodel and take a break from sitting in the car.
We powered through some snowy and windy conditions to make it home by about 9pm. A quick, but fun family getaway!
