The only problem with vacation is having to come back to real life. We had a few days back before having to go back to work and daycare.
Jimmy has been in a love affair with Crumbl cookies the last month or so. He decided to recreate their Kentucky Butter Cake Cookie for us. Both kids and myself approved.
Esme has been taking her puppy, Kyla, with her everywhere. She gets to bring it to daycare this week, but we've been talking about leaving her home when she goes to school. She also got a new pair of shoes. Her current ones still fit, but are in rough shape (reminder not to get light colored shoes.)
We had two open houses. Parker's was on Wednesday. It was the first time I was in his building in 18 months. He has a new teacher this year, so it was great to talk to her in person and see where his classroom would be.
Esme's open house was Thursday night. My mom came over to hang out with Parker so both Jimmy and I could go. She is at a different school than Parker, so this was the first time any of us got to check it out. She found her room decorated with frogs. It turned out her teacher is really good friends with Parker's teacher from the last two years.
After finding her locker and getting a quick room tutorial from her teacher, we dropped off her supplies and checked out some of the toys. She saw the magnet tiles right away and was so happy. She played for a few minutes before telling us, "you can leave now." I think she's ready for Kindergarten!
