May Mix-Up

The pool has been slowly getting warmer, but we've been battling a lot of rainy days too.
Esme was student of the month at her gymnastics gym and was featured on the display board.
We've been enduring some chilly and rainy softball games as well. They will play in light rain, but had an entire week of games postponed due to heavy rain and wet field conditions.
We've also had bonus fans at many of her games.
More 4-wheeling at Grandpa and Nana's house
Hanging out with cousins at the first tractor pull of the year.
Parker is diving in as much as he can eagerly awaiting the water park opening!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a pretty low-key holiday weekend.  Our church is moving to 1 service for the summer so we might be able to get donuts there instead of at Dunkin.
The Timberwolves are in the playoff hunt so they did some promos with Hy-Vee.  Our store got a visit from Crunch and some of the dancers.
Free donuts to cap it off!!
For lunch we visited Jimmy at work. I used to visit a lot, but it's probably been years since I did. He made Esme a grilled cheese and Parker enjoyed a personal pizza.

Pearls and 4-Wheeling

My parent's went on vacation recently and they brought Esme back a pearl necklace kit.  It comes with a mollusk that you open up to harvest the pearl, then you put it in a cage like pendant.  My mom and I used to do a "pearl diver" activity at the state fair every year and it brought back those memories.
Esme definitely had the ick factor opening the shell, but did pretty well.
Beautiful new jewelry!
Both kids rode4-wheelers while we out there as well.  Esme hasn't been as big on it lately, but really wanted to ride.
Grandpa took Parker out on the big one to give him a lesson, then let him ride alone.  He was terrified of this machine at one time so I am really proud of him for driving it!

Kick Off to the Fair

Jimmy and I had a date night in Falcon Heights on Friday. The Kick Off to the Fair has been happening the last few years and offers a smaller taste of what's to come for the State Fair in August.  Food was our main priority and it didn't disappoint.

Minneapple Pie and Ice cream - Fried Pickles

Jamaican Patty - Pronto Pup

Mini Donut Beer - Cheese Curds

Hummas bowl - Sweet Martha's Cookies
Overall it was fun, but I don't think I would do it again.  There weren't enough activities to break up the eating so we got full really quick.  I think we'll just stick with the real deal next time.

Emma's Grad Party

After a busy Saturday we celebrated our niece's high school graduation.  She had just turned one when Jimmy and I started dating and it's hard to believe this day is already here.
She had a book themed party with an adorable picture backdrop.
Congrats Emma, can't wait to see where this life takes you!

Start to Esme's Softball Season

Esme's softball season officially kicked off last week.  She started with a scrimmage on Wednesday. Here she is taking batting practice with coach Mike.
It looks like she will rotate between catcher and right field.  She's been a little scared of the ball and I think this will help with that.
The real season kicked off with two games on Saturday.  it was a little chilly so we bundled up.
Esme didn't get a hit, but walked a couple times and scored some runs.  Great way to support your team!
They split the day to start 1-1.  Can't wait to see how she and her team grows this year.
