Happy Birthday Great-Grandma!

We spent the weekend in Nebraska, visiting my grandma and celebrating her birthday.  We drove down after work on Friday and stayed in a nearby hotel since my grandma's house was full.  Parker loved getting to swim in the hotel pool Saturday morning.  We took a quick dip before breakfast.
My brother drove his bike down and gave Grandma Bette her first Harley ride!

We arrived mid-morning and got our snuggles in right away.  It's been over 2 years since we've seen her in person, so the kids were a little shy, but warmed up quickly.  We will need to make visits a higher priority moving forward.
Parker and Esme had a great time playing with their cousins from Texas.
I made sure to get a group picture early in the day so we didn't let the opportunity pass us by.  Boyfriend, siblings, children, nieces, nephew, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, such an incredible legacy.
My dad had been doing some lathe work for a while now and made a beautiful segmented bowl for her.  She was even more impressed than I am!  I can't wait to get mine (wink, wink.)
Parker even helped her blow out the candles on her cake, it was adorable.
After eating lunch, we got to play games and just hang out.  We brought an old kiddie pool for the kids and they really enjoyed that!
My cousin Ramsy and I had a good streak of wins in bean bag toss.  It was the most entertaining activity of the day.
An exciting day calls for some napping.
It may have been Bette's birthday, but the real star of the show was Ollie!  He is Ramsy and Angie's youngest son.  Esme was the last baby, so it's fun to have another little one to spoil.  Everyone found time to hang out with him.
Grandpa and all his grandkids.
We said our goodbyes after dinner and headed back to the hotel before heading home Sunday morning.  She is one of the sweetest, most loving people on this planet and we are blessed to call her ours.  Happiest of birthdays (great) grandma Bette!
It was a fun filled weekend and the trip home showed.  Both kids were perfect travelers and can't wait to visit again soon.
